Final Concept

Final
Concept

As from my research and work on my entries of Design, Art and Film, I came up with an idea of fashion where I took the film of Romeo and Juliet of 1996 and copied the dress of Juliet’s during the party where she met Romeo for the first time. She had a slim long white dress with wings attached to her back. I had the idea of planes and the wings as Design of Juliet were a perfect match of my concept, so I added the wings bigger and brighter. I added  the De Stijl style as an Art part in my work where I put patches on the dress and wings.

A screen shot of Juliet during the party looking down towards Romeo when her maid grabbed her to go in a room with her, the mother and the astronaut man that had to be the one for Juliet but she refuses.

I added the wings of the dress because of my design entry of airplanes that have a huge role in them. I left them the same shape but bigger and with a brighter colour of yellow.

They look almost the same. From this wing of the aircraft and Juliet’s costume.

As for the art in it, De Stijl was the best part it completes the dress. I thought whether I do it in full of boxes, lines and colours but it would become much bright and confusing so I just added patches with a few boxes and balanced it with colours. The colours that I used are yellow, red, blue and green. Very bright colours that match the style of De Stijl.

A sketch of how the dress would look like in the De Stijl style.

So my final drawing came in a white dress with patches of De Stijl style together with the wings but in a more yellow colour and used the model from the film of Romeo and Juliet.

I did not give detail to the model because it was not that important and I could not manage to do the whole dress because in the film there is not a full capture of it. I am very pleased with what I came up and it helped me to include and experiment differently with other elements and materials.

Concept on iPhone and De Stijl

Concept
In Design

As I did an entry on mobile phones and included the new smartphone of all that is the iPhone 5. I came up with an idea, where apps do not have to be in perfect position and in line. Apple Company and other manufactures of mobile phones must include a setting for homepage appearance. Where each and every person can make his or her personal homepage with a clean or crazy application appearance. This is where the style of De Stijl makes a good connection. This inspired me from my recent entry.

All applications must have colours and placed in every single box as you like. As this is a perfect square by square but with different colours and it already makes a difference.

Imagine if the lines where running along and makes the screen more interesting. Such as this,

Every application with its own colour, the sized box which probably the big boxes will be the one’s you use most, the stretched ones for games, etc.… it is a puzzle for all to make their screen as how they want it. It can also bring a lot of smiles on the owners face knowing he designed his own homepage on his daily useful device.

This is how my design came up, with a mix of De Stijl design in apps and the form and colour of the iPhone itself. It is in a much creative way of doing your desktop phone.

Transformation in Airplanes

Transformation
In Design

The Wright Brothers first airplane.

The airplanes we know today.

Humans always wondered how birds fly. We look and steal the movement and ideas to make our comfortable way of traveling as the most common example the ships and boats. We took the shapes of duck, swans and other things that float and transfer them into something we could use. As we come to airplanes where others use to look at birds how they fly and study them are the Wright brothers where they studied hard the principles of flying. Before all the inventions of the airplanes they had already been producing new stuff as bicycles. Their first observational about flight was around 1900. After some times they came up with kite models, life size kites to hold up a human, and three years later they managed to build an airplane that can hold a person. This was build with wood and metal structure and fabric wings. They managed to make an engine and controllers for the adjustable wings whether to get higher or lower. This was their first successful flight with a pilot and it flew for 12 seconds and landed without any damages. A year after they upgraded their airplane and hold the pilot that was Wilber Wright for about five minutes in the air.

Today more than a hundred years the technology in airplane increased a lot. Nowadays airplanes can carry many people with a large amount of weight, long distances, speed, smoothness, higher and much more. Today most of the airplanes have their engine on each side of the wing, other may have more motors running it depends what it is caring and for what it is used. There are models of airplanes, ones that carry passengers, others for war, carrying objects, private jets and hotels in planes. There are a lot of types all finished with a high technology and security.
